The Oklahoma Native Assets Coalition (ONAC) supports a network of Native people who are dedicated to increasing self-sufficiency and prosperity in their communities through the establishment of comprehensive financial education initiatives, Individual Development Accounts, and other asset-building strategies. ONAC provides necessary building blocks for tribal citizens to grow healthy food systems, such as helping Native youth and their families to save for trade school, college, and careers in agriculture, farming, ranching, and policy work to promote healthy food systems. ONAC also administers family emergency savings account program, provides Native-specific financial education, acts as an intermediary funder, administers the national Native EITC/VITA network, coordinates the first Native Bank On coalition to help tribal citizens have access to safe and affordable bank accounts, conducts national Native asset building research, and provides technical assistance and training to tribes and Native-led nonprofits to administer various asset building programs that impact those engaged in Native food systems.
